To celebrate Black History Month, Conduit Health Partners is excited to feature some of our incredible employees.
We asked our employees, to share stories of what gets them excited each day, what they are most proud of, why they enjoy working at Conduit, and highlight how a figure in black history shaped their career or life.
We hope you enjoy these inspiring stories as much as we do.
What do you enjoy about working at Conduit Health Partners?
I consider it a blessing to work for a company that lists Jesus’s mission as an important cause.
Conduit Health Partners is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bon Secours Mercy Health whose mission statement states: “To Extend the compassion ministry of *JESUS* by improving the health and wellbeing of our communities and bring good help to those in need, especially people who are poor, dying and underserved.”
How could I not have gratitude to work for such a company?
I also appreciate Conduit Health Partner’s acknowledgment of Black History Month. Thank you for recognizing this important month and participating.
What figure in Black History shaped you or your career?
I had the opportunity to meet John Lewis, one of my heroes in Black history. John was a former United States Representative for Georgia’s fifth congressional district from 1987 until his death last year. He was a statesman, civil rights activist from a young age, as he was the chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee from 1963 – 1966.
John spoke at my church, and I was blessed with the opportunity to sing for him. He was so well-versed, spoke of his history with the civil rights movement and left a legacy for future generations. He was exceptional. The most indelible memory I have of him is how humble and how approachable he was. I will hold an everlasting memory of the legacy he has left and the caliber of man he was!
